An Athens-based maritime technology company working on vessel performance, maritime data engineering, and environmental compliance — and publishing what we learn along the way.
What we work on and why we publish
What We Work On
Blue Autonomy is an Athens-based maritime technology company. We help shipowners and operators turn raw vessel data into something they can act on: a trustworthy data foundation, vessel performance analysis that connects the numbers back to the physics of the ship, compliance & charter party figures that survive scrutiny, and reporting & AI that make the data speak up before you ask.
Why We Publish
The maritime industry runs on data that is often noisy, inconsistent, and hard to interpret — and the methods for handling it are too often treated as trade secrets. We take the opposite view: we share our methods, findings, and mistakes openly in papers, articles, and conference talks, because better-understood data makes the whole industry safer and more efficient.
The Founder
Christos Papandreou — CEO & Founder
With almost 15 years of experience in fleet performance and operational data, I lead Blue Autonomy, a company dedicated to delivering intelligent fleet performance engineering solutions for the shipping industry. At Blue Autonomy, we specialize in advanced performance monitoring, intelligent data management, and AI-driven insights to empower ship operators in optimizing vessel operations for improved efficiency and sustainability.
My mission is to bridge the gap between physics-based models, artificial intelligence, and the operational realities of maritime vessels. By building customized performance models and digital twins, our team focuses on practical analytics for enhanced decision-making in areas like speed-power dynamics, hull fouling detection, and fuel efficiency. We are committed to driving automation and innovation within the maritime sector to support decarbonization goals and optimize fleet performance.
